LOCKE AVE PARK – Located between Locke Avenue, High Hill Rd and Auburn Rd, our park consists of 145 acres of well-maintained greenery and natural areas. Locke Avenue Park is home to 5 baseball and softball fields, 4 multi-use sports fields, walking paths, a playground, concession area and midget football programs. Many local youth athletic programs utilize the fields at Locke Avenue; over 3,000 young athletes have played on various fields. The park hosts paved and unpaved walking paths with benches strategically placed along the way. There is ample parking from both entrances off Locke Avenue and High Hill Road. The park has indoor bathrooms, as well as portable toilets and is handicap accessible. High Hill Park is a smaller recreational area adjacent to Locke Ave Park. Located just off High Hill Road, the smaller park unit connects to Locke Ave Park by a short paved pathway through the woods. It consists of basketball courts, 4 baseball/softball fields, a horseshoe pit, swing set and a large open grass field for multiple uses. For more information, click here.

TRANQUILITY TRAILS – For outdoor recreation, the Township offers a number of opportunities in its park system. For hiking and bird watching, visit Tranquility Trails at LaPalamento Family Park, which provides a safe parking area and trailhead offering nearly two miles of well-maintained primitive trails traversing a mosaic of natural habitats. Encompassing approximately 140 acres of township parkland, Tranquility Trails is a great place leave suburbia behind and take in the beautiful views of expansive emergent wetland habitat along tidal Raccoon Creek, as well as natural wildflower meadow habitat established in partnership with the USDA. EXCITING COMMUNITY BASED ACTIVITIES – Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation hosts several events throughout the year for our residents to enjoy. Our biggest event is Locke Avenue Fun Day, which is an event for kids and adults to enjoy. There are carnival games, rides, bounce houses, food trucks, live entertainment, pony rides local vendors and much more! Fun Day will open with a community run and conclude with an amazing fireworks display. A town wide block party is held at High Hill Park that consists of fun activities for the kids, live entertainment, food trucks and a beer and wine garden for adults. Parks and Recreation also organizes events for special occasions like our Annual Christmas Parade and Holiday Village and our Annual Easter Egg Scramble. LAKE NARRATICON – Spanning both Woolwich Township and the Borough of Swedesboro, Lake Narraticon is a 20-acre hidden gem for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. The Park is owned and managed by Swedesboro and is approximately 200 acres in size. There is a 1.5 mile hillside trail that starts at a bridge over a small stream that feeds into the lake. The woodland and small stream habitat is good for birding. The lake is stocked with trout and contains multiple fish species, from bass and carp to perch and sunfish. A fishing dock extends 30 feet into the water and is handicapped accessible. The second dock includes a kayak launch system, which includes a rolling ramp that makes it easier to get kayaks into the water by allowing boaters to roll themselves off the dock.
